Prayer and Blessing for Medical Staff and Patients Afflicted with COVID-19 and its Complications
Lord God, Heavenly Father, I call on you right now in a special way. It is only through your power and love that those here with me today/ tonight/ were created. Every breath they take throughout their sleeping and waking hours is your creation and gift. Every day or night they work in this hospital is under your protection and power. You have called those here to serve you and their patients and co-workers in this time of crisis and emergency and they have willingly responded and now seek your help.
I ask you, Lord, to touch them with the healing power of your Holy Spirit. Bless and protect their hands as they attend to their sick, fragile and weakened patients. Guide their thoughts and work as they treat and care for their patients with loving concern. Let this ICU/ Emergency Department/ Trauma Center/Medical Unit/ be a house of blessing and a center of healing love. Give them wisdom and right judgment in their treatment and healing decisions and help them to restore their patients’ health and bodies through the tender care they provide throughout their shift. Cast out anything that should not be in them or their patients. Mend what is broken. Root out any unproductive cells in their patients’ lungs and airways, hearts, arteries, veins, kidneys and any other organ adversely affected by this coronavirus. Heal their patients ‘ respiratory difficulties and heal any acute respiratory stress their patients may be experiencing and restore their patients’ breathing and heart function to normal. Let the warmth of your healing love and spirit pass through all their patients’ bodies to make them function the way you created them to function.
Lord, protect these caregivers’ entire family, spouses, children and friends. Bring peace and tranquility and serenity to their home life. Keep them strong in perseverance and strengthen them with patient endurance and good health of soul, mind, body and spirit that only your healing Sacred Heart and enduring love can provide.
I ask Blessed Mary, Health of the Sick and all the angels and saints in heaven to pray for their health and protection and the healing of all their patients from COVID-19 coronavirus and its complications as well as any other illnesses.
I ask this all through Our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever.
May the Lord bless you, protect you from all evil and bring you to everlasting life…Amen.
