9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Keynote: The Top Spiritual Care Articles of the Past Five years: What you need to know for your ministry (Geila Rajaee, MDiv, BCC)
10:30 – 10:45 a.m. Break
10:45 – 11:15 a.m. Facilitated Discussion on Research Papers (Geila Rajaee, M.Div, BCC)
11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Self-Compassion and Heartmath (Judith Cox, MA, LPC, NCC, BCC)
Health is Your Greatest Wealth – Use your heart’s intelligence and mindfulness practices to neutralize the poisons of stress. HeartMath is a scientifically valid stress intervention that boosts the health and performance of individuals.
12:00 – 12:50 p.m. Lunch
1:00 – 1:50 p.m. Practicing what we Preach: opportunities for self-care. Choose from:

  • Humor & Healing (Kathleen Neumann, MSN, RN, HSMI) ~ Humor has been used as a powerful tool of healing for self and others since before Biblical times and through many religions and cultures. Now there’s a growing body of science to validate this ancient wisdom! Come laugh and learn! (Note: this is a 90-minute presentation, so you must sign up for BOTH sessions)
  • Loving Kindness Meditation (Judith Cox, MA, LPC, NCC, BCC) ~ Increase self-compassion by experiencing a Loving Kindness Meditation and a Compassion with Equanimity Practice. Commit to these meaningful exercises in kindheartedness and gain a deeper appreciation for yourself and your life.
  • Singing Bowls (Sheri Sansom, BA Music, RYT 200, ERYT 500) ~ Experience the profoundly relaxing sounds of crystal singing bowls. Learn the many ways sound therapy can facilitate heath and wholeness encouraging connection to God, self, and others.
2:00 – 2:50 p.m. Breakout Sessions:

  • Spiritual and Ethical Dilemmas around End of Life Care (Anna S. Kostaroff MS, MA, RN) ~ A facilitated conversation around current issues at EOL.
  • Using Ritual and Symbol – Come and share your stories and resources you use (Fr. Rich Bartoszek, MA BCC) ~ Share your stories and resources you use to help create meaning.
  • Humor & Healing – Part II (Continued from 1:00 p.m. session) (Kathleen Neumann, MSN, RN, HSMI)
3:00 – 3:30 p.m. Closing Reflection and Review:
Small group discussion, key learnings from the day, program evaluation & Closing Prayer
and Blessing
A $35 participant fee will cover breakfast, lunch, and the program. 4.5 CEH’s are offered.
