Overview
This interactive workshop will help participants understand the role of cultural humility in service to patients in a variety of health settings with an emphasis on deepening the understanding of DEI beyond “tolerance.”

Presenter Information
Dr. Mojgan (Mo) Sami is an Assistant Professor of Health Equity in the Department of Public Health at California State University Fullerton, where she teaches courses on global and community health. She’s an interdisciplinary scholar focusing on health justice as an outcome of the ways we design and build our systems (both tangible and intangible). Prior to her academic career, Dr. Sami worked at the World Health Organization and the World Bank. Currently, she serves as an advisory member of the One Health Working Group in the Special Program for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases (TDR) at WHO and is the Co-Chair of a global working group for Planetary Health with the International Union for Health Promotion and Education. She was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association in Orange County, California.
