Laudato Si’ and Chaplaincy: How are We Connected to the Ecological Crisis?
Presented by
Anna Johnson

November 17, 2022 ~ 12pm – 1:30pm Central Time

Overview
As the ecological crisis is increasingly impacting both the mental and physical health and well-being of the communities and individuals we serve, we are called to take a step back to look at the overall picture and discern what role we can play in responding. Join us to learn about how the ecological crisis will increasingly affect the communities we work with, and how our Catholic faith, through the encyclical Laudato Si and the teachings of Christ, calls us to act and be beacons of hope.

Objectives

As a result of this webinar, participants will:

  • Discuss the ecological crisis
  • Apply the teachings of Laudato Si to their chaplaincy ministry
  • Examine their chaplaincy ministry in light of the Laudato Si Action Platform

NACC Certification Competencies Addressed in this Webinar
ITP1.1, PIC 3.2, PIC6

Presenter Information

Anna Johnson lives and works in Seattle, Washington as North America Senior Programs Manager for the Laudato Si Movement. With over 10 years experience of working with, researching trends in, and ministering to young adults, she loves exploring the wisdom young adults have to bring to the teachings of Christ and ways of living faith. Anna holds an undergraduate degree in Peace Studies and Political Science from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, and a Masters Degree in Sustainability Leadership from Arizona State. After college, she lived as an Overseas Lay Missioner with the Holy Cross in Bugembe, Uganda learning from and teaching Internally Displaced Communities. She grew up with a wild love of the outdoors, and on any given weekend you can find her reveling in God’s creation by camping, kayaking, hiking with anyone who will join.
