About the Presenter:
Dr. Kathleen Fischer has been a teacher, counselor, and spiritual director in Seattle, Washington for more than thirty years, and has worked with older adults and their families in a variety of settings. She has a Ph.D. from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California and a M.S.W. from the University of Washington. Dr. Fischer is the award-winning author of numerous articles and books, including Winter Grace: Spirituality and Aging and Autumn Gospel: Women in the Second Half of Life.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
- Deepen their understanding of the spiritual gifts and challenges of the later years
- Identify resources in the Christian tradition for supporting the aging journey
- Integrate awareness of the spiritual dimensions of aging into their ministry with older adults and their families
Program Information:
Dr. Fischer began the two sessions with a presentation, followed by facilitated participant exchange. The participants qualify for up to 3 CEHs for the two sessions.
