October 2009 Audio Conference

These audio conferences will provide participants with an overview of the most recent studies on the Book of Job and its key insights that can help those who minister to individuals experiencing loss or grief.
About the Presenter:
Dianne Bergant, CSA, is Professor of Biblical Studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. She was President of the Catholic Biblical Association of America and has been an active member of the Chicago Catholic/Jewish Scholars Dialogue for the past twenty years. She is on the editorial boards of Biblical Theology Bulletin and Chicago Studies. She wrote weekly columns titled “The Word” for America magazine (2002-2005). She is currently working in the areas of biblical interpretation and biblical theology.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will receive:
A historical-critical background on the Book of Job
An overview of current interpretations for the contemporary readers
Observations on the main themes as they relate to pastoral care responses to people in loss and grief
Program Information:Sr. Dianne began the two sessions with a presentation, followed by facilitated participant exchange.
Participants qualify for up to 3 CEHs for the two sessions.
