Healing Ministry and the Sacraments: A Contemporary Understanding of Sacraments Can Enrich our Pastoral Care Ministry

Presented by Fr. Peter Fink, SJ

About the Presenter:
Peter Fink, SJ is Professor Emeritus of Sacramental-Liturgical Theology from Weston Jesuit School of Theology (Cambridge, MA) and is currently Associate Pastor of St. Francis Xavier Church (New York City). Peter holds Master’s degrees in Science and Theology and received the Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Emory University in 1976. Peter is the author of Worship: Praying the Sacraments and editor of The New Dictionary of Sacramental Worship and two volumes in the Alternative Futures of Worship series.

Learning Objectives:
Participants will have the opportunity for:

  1. A deepening of our understanding of the sacramental life of the Catholic Church
  2. A greater clarity of the Sacrament of Anointing and Reconciliation
  3. Exploring implications of these sacraments for the ministry of pastoral care

Program Information:
The audio conferences will begin promptly at 12:00 p.m. Central Time and conclude at 1:00 p.m. Participants will receive presentation materials one week in advance in order to prepare for the presentation. Fr. Peter will begin the two sessions with a presentation, followed by facilitated participant exchange. The participants qualify for up to 3 CEHs for the two sessions. The fee is $20 per line for the two sessions.
