November 2009 Audio Conference
Presented by Dr. Susan K. Wood, SCL
These audio conferences will provide participants a background on Co-workers in the Vineyard of the Lord. The document was developed by the Committee of the Laity of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), and approved by the USCCB at its November 2005 general meeting. It offers a pastoral and theological reflection on the reality of lay ecclesial ministry and suggested concepts, goals, and strategies for adaptation and implementation. Dr. Wood will offer an overview of its contributions, ongoing discussions on church ministry and the formation and authorization of lay ecclesial ministers, and some implications for the specialized ministry of pastoral care.
About the Presenter: Dr. Susan Wood, SCL is Professor and Department Chair of the Theology Department at Marquette University. Dr. Wood specializes in ecclesiology and most of her writing explores the connections between ecclesiology and sacramental theology. In additional to numerous articles, Dr. Wood published Sacramental Orders, One Baptism (coming in Fall 2009) and is the editor of Ordering the Baptismal Priesthood. Currently Dr. Wood is studying the relationship between the permanent diaconate and lay ecclesial ministry.
