About the Graduate School
The program, offered by Santa Clara University in your diocese, builds a firm foundation of theology and ministry and awards a Master of Arts degree from Santa Clara University upon completion of all requirements. Our program welcomes all who seek academic, theological and spiritual formation for ministry. Together we will explore the many ways in which we are called to be church in the world. Through the “blended learning” approach our classes are taught with both face-to-face and online collaborative methods. The classes are taught within a ten-week quarter; three of these face-to-face classes are held on Saturdays through the quarter from 9:00 to 3:00 at a location within your diocese. During the other seven weeks in the quarter, the classes are taught online as a web conference where the class and professor meet together from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on a designated weeknight.
Mission Statement
The Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries of Santa Clara University seeks to transform hearts and lives for service to the world through competence, conscience, and compassion. Founded in 1983, the Graduate Program in Pastoral Ministries offers small classes that are taught within many of the dioceses in California through a combination of face-to-face, video conferencing and online experiences tailored to our students’ ministry goals. The program provides a strong theological foundation to a body of students who are deeply involved in the many ministries of justice and evangelization within the church.
