2025 Professional Webinar: Addressing De-Escalation as Spiritual Caregivers

Presented by Rob Wolpert MDiv, BCC

Date:  Thursday, September 18, 2025

Time: 12pm – 1:30pm Central Time

Have you ever experienced violence in the workplace? What about a time where you weren’t certain if things were going to become violent, and you were left disoriented, fearful, angry, or something else? It seems that no matter the setting, whether you work in a place of worship, not-for-profit, hospital, prison, or somewhere else, conversations and instances related to violence and escalation are becoming more common. Within healthcare, the Joint Commission has placed a stronger focus on this issue, publishing new requirements for their accredited sites in 2022 on addressing this matter. It also seems that this topic is gaining more attention from the media, as well as employers.

Webinar Objectives:

  1. Learn to recognize signs of escalation.
  2. Understand ways to address escalation through the SOOTHE model.

NACC Certification Competencies Addressed in this Webinar
ITP2, ITP3, PIC2, PIC5, PPS4
