The 2020 Conference strives to accommodate our attendees dietary needs as much as possible, so during registration attendees will be given the opportunity to note their dietary needs.
Muslims, Halal Food and Ramadan
Muslims may elect, in the dietary needs section of online registration, to receive vegetarian or kosher meals (Monday banquet, Tuesday luncheon, Wednesday banquet). For those Muslims observing the Ramadan fast, you may request that your dinner-time meal at each of the banquets be served after sundown. While the conference does not provide registrants with breakfast, the mosque closest to the Huntington Conference Center has graciously offered to host observant Muslims for the pre-dawn meal. (Requires a 20 minute car/taxi ride.) Select “Observing Ramadan” in the dietary needs section of registration so we can provide an accurate head-count. Alternatively, you may store breakfast foods in the refrigerator in your hotel room for your pre-dawn meals. All the conference hotels, apart form the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel, have a refrigerator in their rooms.
Kosher Food
Registrants who require kosher food at the conference may select“Kosher“, in the dietary needs section of online registration to receive kosher food for the meals provided by the conference (Monday banquet, Tuesday luncheon, Wednesday banquet). Meals will be provided by Davis Caterers of Cleveland Heights, under the supervision of Rabbi Yehuda Blum of Vaad Harabunim Hachareidus of Cleveland Ohio.
As Tuesday night is “dinner on your own,” a list of kosher restaurants are listed on the conference website and will be listed in the mobile app. Transportation required.
NAJC will provide NAJC members/guests registered to attend the conference (early bird, full, retired, student, daily) with kosher meals for breakfast on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and lunch on Wednesday. There is no additional costs for these meals.
If a NAJC member brings a guest who will only be attending meals with the member, the cost of the guests meals will be the responsibility of the member or guest. Tickets for these meals must be purchased during the registration process and we will not have additional tickets to these meals available onsite.
If you have any questions, please contact Allison at the NAJC office at (305) 394-8018.
