Dear NACC members,
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new website, still located at www.nacc.org but now improved! Although you won't see a lot of changes on the surface (yet), the underlying platform of the site has been upgraded and improved, and the entire login system has been rebuilt from the ground up.
Here's what this means for you. Please read this entire message as it will likely answer many of your questions:
Your current credentials, which are your membership number (as username) and an assigned password (usually your last name), will no longer work. Those are tied to the old login system which no longer exists.
INSTRUCTIONS |
You should visit the site sometime in the coming days so you can re-register for member login. To do this you simply go to www.nacc.org/Account/Register.aspx or click on "Member Login" or "Member Pages" at the top of the page (see Fig. 1 below).
|
|
The Member Login box will appear. Note the links for creating (registering) a new account and recovering a forgotten password (Fig. 2).
|
To register, click "Register here." |
IMPORTANT: our old "special" login credentials used for Audio Conferences, Certification Applicants, Commission members, etc. will no longer work. Access to all such pages will be tied to your username. Example: If you sign up for a particular audio conference, we will add your username to the list of those allowed to access the audio conference page. If you happen to be a Board member, a commission member, and a March 2013 audio conference attendee, then you will be able to access all areas intended for those groups.
Due to the large number of changes in navigation structure and location of files, there will certainly be broken links and other small overlooked details that need to be cleaned up in the coming month or two. If you find something wrong such as a broken link or a page that won't work correctly, please call (414-483-4898 ext 307) or email (pparadowski@nacc.org or webmaster@nacc.org) Phil Paradowski anytime with the details and it will be fixed as soon as possible.
If you find you are unable to access an area that you ought to be able to access (examples: Certification Commission member can't get into the Commission page, member can't access the page for an audio conference that has already been paid for and attended), please don't panic! It's probably our oversight and it is easily fixed. Just drop a line to Phil (414-483-4898 ext 307 or or webmaster@nacc.org) or to the staffer in charge of the website area in question (Jeanine at jannunziato@nacc.org for Audio Conferences, Lindsey at Lindsey.Tews@nacc.org for Certification).
If you have any questions or comments about all of this, or need assistance in any way with the website, please contact Phil: pparadowski@nacc.org 414-483-4898 ext 307
The NACC website serves a lot of documents created using Microsoft Office software. We understand that not everyone has (or can afford) this software. To aid in downloading and viewing files from our site, please use Adobe Reader and/or Microsoft's free file viewers:
Word Viewer
(For .doc and .docx files)
Excel Viewer
(For .xls and .xlsx files)
Adobe Reader
(For .pdf files)
PowerPoint Viewer 2003
(for .ppt files)
General tip for opening web documents: if a link to a document (.doc, .docx, .pdf) won't open upon clicking, the simplest solution is to right-click on the link and select "Save Link As" (in Firefox) or "Save Target As" (in Internet Explorer)*, then save the file to your computer. Then open it directly from the saved file.
PDF files can prove especially vexing as they tend to behave differently in different browsers (and different configurations of the same browser). Also, large PDFs can lock up a web browser and result in a crash. To work around these problems, it may be best to right-click on the link to a .pdf file and select "Save Link As" (in Firefox) or "Save Target As" (in Internet Explorer)*, then save the file to your computer. Then open it directly from the saved file. Those using Firefox are strongly advised to install the "PDF Download" add-on which will allow you total control of PDF behavior in your browser.
* If using Safari on a Mac, hold down the Option key and then click the link.
