These popular spiritual growth and self-improvement programs are designed to fit your schedule and your budget.
Spiritualityandpractice.com, created by Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat, is devoted to resources for spiritual journeys. The site's name reflects a basic understanding: spirituality and practice are the two places where all the world's religions and spiritual paths come together. With respect for the differences among them, we celebrate what they have in common.
Practicing Spirituality E-Courses
These are 40-part programs delivered daily or on-demand via email. Each email includes a short reading and a suggested practice to bring the thought in the reading to life during the day. We also provide a link in each email to a review of the book where we found the reading; often these book reviews include longer excerpts. When a course is first offered as a “current” course, it is delivered daily, and we also have an online Practice Circle where participants can share their reactions to the readings and their experiences with the practices. These tend to be wonderful conversations; because they are private and limited to e-course subscribers, people are willing to share deep feelings and raise the issues that concern them.

Bioethics is an innovative new field. Whether you are a health care professional, lawyer, clergyperson, academic, or advanced student, formal knowledge of bioethics is increasingly important. Similarly, health care institutions in the United States and around the world need professionals who can analyze ethics cases and policies, facilitate ethical decision-making, and effectively teach colleagues and students.
To meet this need, the Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics and Health Policy is pleased to announce a new Online MA Program in Clinical Bioethics and Health Policy. This program is entirely online - no classroom attendance is required. The Online MA program builds on the success of the traditional on-campus MA program in health care ethics offered by the Department of Philosophy, Loyola University, Chicago.
Key features of our Online MA program in bioethics:
The online degree should be seen primarily as a supplemental degree, and does not by itself guarantee job placement in the field of bioethics. This Online MA program is designed primarily for professionals with advanced degrees who have a significant interest in bioethics.
For more information, go to: http://www.meddean.luc.edu/depts/bioethics/online_masters.html.
Catholic health care in the 21st century faces a myriad of challenges. Among the most significant challenges is the need for leaders who understand what it means to be part of the healing ministry of the Church - leaders who can work to ensure the vitality and integrity of the ministry into the future. Meeting this challenge requires Catholic health care leaders to not only grasp the complexities of health care but also to have a sound knowledge of the Church's theological tradition. They must be able to communicate that tradition and influence the future of faith-based health care.
The Master of Arts in Health Care Mission exists to prepare current and future leaders for this critical task.
The program offers graduate-level education developing:
How will our program make you a better Health Care Leader?
The non-residential, internet-based approach enables students to remain employed for the duration of the program. Online study periods are enhanced by intensive weekends in St. Louis that bring students and faculty together for dialogue, coursework and community building.
For details on the coursework, see the Master of Arts in Health Care web page. The Master of Arts in Health Care Mission program is a cohort model program. That is, adult learners enroll together and proceed through the entire program as a community, both online and during intensive weekend sessions in St. Louis. Students complete three courses per calendar year, allowing completion of the degree within 3½ years.
