SPIRITUAL CARE LEADERS
CHAPLAIN, RABBI, CATHOLIC DEACON
You will visit with patients and families and assess their spiritual strengths, issues and needs in order to provide non-judgmental support and care that is individual for each patient/family's needs. Working with the patient's spiritual care leader in order to arrange for them to meet with the patient and family as well as providing prayers, readings, poems, blessings and funeral services when asked to do so will also be involved.
Requirements:
• Master's degree in ministry, pastoral care or pastoral counseling.
• 6-12 months experience as a spiritual care leader.
• Experience in a clinical setting.
• Clinical Pastoral Education preferred.
• Understanding of human nature, divine revelation and self-understanding.
• Training in pastoral counseling.
• Maintains professional Licensure/certification requirements.

Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA - The Department of Chaplaincy is one of the highlights in the proud 200-year history of Massachusetts General Hospital. We are seeking a Director to build on this past, grow our dynamic present and lead into our cutting-edge future.
The Director will manage and lead a large, full-service Chaplaincy providing invaluable care to our community of patients, families, care providers and staff. Responsibilities will include: manage the operations of and lead a multi-faith, diverse team of Chaplains who assure and provide for spiritual care at MGH, along with overseeing the work of the large cadre of volunteers who support those efforts. In addition, this position oversees the work of a CPE Supervisor and teaches in diverse hospital programs.
Our Chaplaincy staff partner with the medical, nursing, social work, and various therapy providers and are thus well-integrated into the healthcare teams of our various inpatient units. As such, the Director and Staff Chaplains are involved in committees, task forces and initiatives both within the Division of Patient Care Services and organization-wide.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a commitment to managing daily operations (which includes the assistance of support/admin. staff) along with developing new initiatives that support the spiritual needs of our patients, their families and our staff. In addition, an exquisite ability to listen, hear and understand the diverse traditions of this constituency while also possessing exceptional interpersonal/communication skills and highly refined judgment, are vital to maintaining and extending the high level of impact, support and recognition this Service engenders within the Hospital community. Candidates must also have certification and eight years of experience as a Chaplain along with five years' management experience in a pastoral care department. Those with somewhat less than these specified years of experience may be considered in light of a demonstrated record of strong leadership and management skills.
