FULL MEMBERSHIP
Member † ($245)
A Catholic pastoral minister who shares in the Church's healing mission without the benefit of NACC certification. Members have the right to vote and receive the NACC publication, Vision. This membership level is a prerequisite for beginning the certification process.
Certified Chaplain ($245)
A Catholic pastoral minister who, after becoming a Member, has the benefit of professional certification by the NACC Certification Commission. Benefits include those of a Member and eligibility to hold elective office. Renewal of certification is required every five years.
Certified Associate Supervisor ($320)
A Catholic pastoral minister who has the benefit of certification as an Associate Supervisor by the NACC Certification Commission and is interested in becoming Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) Supervisor. Benefits are the same as those of the Certified Supervisor. A Certified Associate Supervisor remains at this level for only two years. This membership level is a prerequisite to becoming a Certified Supervisor.
Certified Supervisor ($320)
A Catholic pastoral minister who has the benefit of certification as a Supervisor by the NACC Certification Commission. Certified Supervisors are clinical pastoral educators whose responsibilities are teaching, supervising, and preparing others for certification in pastoral care. In addition to receiving the same benefits as the Certified Chaplain, Supervisors receive the Journal of Supervision and Training in Ministry, a yearly publication. Renewal of certification is required every seven years.
OTHER MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES
Missionary ($55)
An individual who is currently engaged in full-time ministry in a developing country. Missionary members pay reduced annual dues. Benefits include those of a Full Member.
Emeritus † ($45)
An individual who has maintained full membership in the NACC for five or more consecutive years and who is now retired. If the member is certified, certification is retained without needing to recertify every five years. The Emeritus member retains voting privileges and subscription to Vision.
Affiliate * † ($105)
An individual who is interested in, or desirous of, furthering the ideals and work of the NACC. This category of membership is open to professionals of any denomination.
Student Affiliate * † ($40)
An individual who is actively engaged in a Clinical Pastoral Education Program. Before applying for certification and receiving a certification application, a Student Affiliate must first become a Full Member.
INACTIVE MEMBERSHIP
Inactive in Chaplaincy * †
A Certified Chaplain who is temporarily not active in chaplaincy. A written request for this status is required, certification is suspended during this time, and the individual must follow her or his original renewal of certification schedule. No mailings are received; however, the member may opt to pay reduced annual dues ($95) to receive all mailings.
Inactive in Layoff ($95)
Any Full Member who has been laid off by an employer. A written request for this status is required. The individual retains voting privileges; if certified, the certification remains valid during this time, and the individual must follow their original renewal of certification schedule. No mailings are received; however, the member may opt to pay reduced annual dues ($95) to receive all mailings.
Inactive Certified Supervisor * † ($155)
A Supervisor who takes a leave from the ministry of supervision. This allows a Supervisor to maintain supervisory certification. An Inactive Certified Supervisor cannot provide supervision in CPE programs and must follow their established renewal of certification schedule.
VISION SUBSCRIPTION ($50)
Vision, a publication of the NACC, is issued 10 times a year. A subscription is included with all paid memberships. Libraries and individuals who are not directly involved in chaplaincy subscribe to Vision. [ Click here for Vision subscription information. ]
