Frequently Asked Questions

I do not have a bachelor’s degree, but I completed training for becoming a deacon. Would this training count for a bachelor’s degree?

Training for the diaconate is specialized and may or may not have the required number of credit hours needed for a bachelor’s degree. If the diaconate program is affiliated with a college or university, some of the credits you have received for these classes may be transferable toward a degree. You would need to submit the course work for review to a college or university to see whether it would be accepted. When combined with other previous studies, a few additional courses may be all that is needed to receive a bachelor’s degree. The NACC requires that you have a bachelor's degree.
