Frequently Asked Questions

I have taken a program in spiritual direction. Would this course be equal to a unit of CPE?

NACC standards do allow for an educational equivalency of one unit of CPE for which a program in spiritual direction may be considered. The course taken must be at least 400 hours and must have all the elements of a CPE unit; that is, a peer group, supervision, didactics, peer supervision, verbatim or case study experience, and evaluation. To have a course of study considered for equivalency, you must submit full documentation of the course, its curriculum, number of hours, a final evaluation, and other necessary verification to the national office for review by an equivalency committee of the Commission.
